Mathieu Vernice is a French football referee currently involved in Ligue 1 appointments. This profile is designed to give The VAR Verdict readers a quick overview of the official’s current top-flight role, disciplinary tendencies and general match-management profile in France’s top division.
In the 2025/26 Ligue 1 season, Mathieu Vernice has officiated 10 league matches, averaging 28.80 fouls, 0.30 penalties, 4.10 yellow cards and 0.40 red cards per game. Those numbers point to a balanced but firm profile, with a firm yellow-card threshold, and red cards appearing at a notable rate, and a high foul count per match. That statistical snapshot helps explain the threshold and tone Mathieu Vernice has shown this season.
