José Luis Munuera Montero is a Spanish football referee born in Jaén (Jaén), Spain on 19 May 1983. He made his La Liga debut on 22 August 2016 and has been FIFA-listed since 2019. He is part of the current top-flight refereeing pool in Spain and is regularly relevant for pre-match analysis, appointment previews and VAR-focused discussion.
In the 2025/26 La Liga season, Munuera Montero has officiated 13 league matches, averaging 27.92 fouls, 0.08 penalties, 4.00 yellow cards and 0.38 red cards per game.
